Best cool thing I've found today? Kee Klamp thanks to JWZ for taking the great Dana Gould quote off his page. Searching around on his got me a great link. I found the quote elsewhere:
"We all enter this world in the same way: naked, screaming, and soaked in blood. But if you live your life right, that kind of thing doesn't have to stop there."

Now doens't this just say it all? From the Ruminations:
I really think folks are missing the point. While Microsoft's alliance with Satan and subsequent plans for world domination are kinda bad, the *real* evil which needs to be exposed is the fact that the Windows operating system cheats at "Hearts."

BTW, the telemarketing rant below was brought to you after only the first of two calls from "Kimberly" of "Blue-Green Marketing" names have been left the same to indict the guilty Kimberly called back and began the same spiel about "free food and travel if only I would visit showroom blah blah blah." The first time she called I firmly broke into the middle of her chatter and said; "No, I'm sorry I'm not interested." Then I hung up. Plain and simple. I was worked up enough to drop the mini rant below and then, while still full of "I shoulda saids" she goes and calls back. I said (and I'm proud of this, normally I'm a wimp about this stuff) "Are you fucking stupid? You just called me!" And I hung up. I did hear a bit of a gurgle at the other end, which I can only hope was her brain stem spasming as it noticed how much it hated having sales people call at home uninvited.

I dislike tele-marketing more and more each day. Here is a tip for you telemarketers out there. If you find that you have to double-speak around when asked your profession (e.g. Media Marketing Specialist) then perhaps you need to find a job that doesn't impact your self-esteem, like Sewer Worker or Dental Assistant or even Television News Anchor for the National Enquirer.

Oh you can always trust Suck to nail it on the head. Usually real hard with a large tack-hammer. See the article on Mozilla in the 2000-04-10 Daily This quote pretty much says it all:
But on another level, Mozilla is an unmitigated usability disaster. Running on Windows, Netscape 6 looks nothing like Windows. Running on MacOS, Netscape 6 looks nothing like MacOS. Running on Linux ... well, no two Linux programs look the same anyway.
Keep in mind that I LOVE Mozilla here. And they don't dislike it, they simply feel that too much customizability actually hurts the usuability overall. The more you can tweak how programs can look the less rational the overall system appears. Say goodbye to the hard won benefit of Mac and Window's standardized interfaces. They may have lagged behind innovation and held up expression but they made it possible for me to load stuff on my Mom's computer and leave, knowing Mom, Dad and anyone else who wandered by and had ever used Windows before would be able to use the program a bit.

Another good quote:

It's more than a little ironic that the most enthusiastic proponents of the magical power of standards — the open-source kids — would so strenuously ignore standards when it comes to the interface. The mantra "standard is better than better" apparently only applies to protocols. Both Microsoft and Apple have been drifting from their established visual elements — the QuickTime 4 interface is a sin against God — but chucking the whole idea for something "better" (not to mention more convenient for programmers) has proven again and again to be colossally stupid.
