Reasons why my blog is only read by 4 people That is a 33% improvement over last week:
  • I'm boring.
  • My opinions are vague and poorly expressed.
  • Hostile.org is a scary souning domain name.
  • I don't suck other blogger's [insert organ/orifice here]
  • I don't have one of those itty bitty blogger ads.
  • I'm too lazy to fill out blogger info forms.
  • I don't revamp the website every month and make that 20% of the content of my posts.
  • Dave Winer has never gotten into a flame war about me. But there is still time =)
  • My four "fans" are useless at promoting me.
  • I don't even know what channel/network "Survivor" was on.
  • "furtive explorations" sounds like a highschool-themed pr0n video.
  • Fucking green on black, WTF? Is it still 1997?
  • Shitty random days skipped and just one post on other days schedule.

AOLiza What a bored guy with an Mac, Perl and the old Eliza script can dream up. Wow. Epic Quote: I feel like I'm having a conversation with myself.
And this new chat thing on AOL of demanding ALS (age location sex) is really annoying. Just as a side note, people that rude deserve to wind up talking to a 20 year old weak-ass experiment in AI.

I don't know what is funnier, this Terms & Conditions document or the same document stuck thru Ask Jesus.

At dinner tonite I'm reading the newest Discover Magazine, a rare buy for me these days but I was bored. In it is a little blurb in the "new products" section -- or whatever they call it -- about a real sharp thinker at MIT. It seems this woman at MIT is disenchanted with the current state of girls toys, mentioned are the fake barbie laptop and the run of makeover software from the past few years. Feeling that these toys were robbing girls of their rightful something or rather she designed new toys that were "better". What she designed were Electric Beads that can "store an image or a poem" and can be threaded together with an "amulet" for display. You can beam things back and forth and trade beads. You can string beads together to tell a whole story.

Yes, thats right, feeling that Barbie Laptop and makeover software were robbing girls of a modern heritage, she invented... a pink plastic digital necklace system. With this woman looking out for feminism, the promisekeepers have nothing to worry about.

And when you lose control
You'll reap the harvest you have sown
And as the fear grows
The bad blood slows and turns to stone.

And it's to late to lose the weight
you used to need to throw around
so have a good drown -- as you go down
all alone -- dragged down by the stone.
Pink Floyd, Dogs (from Animals) ... And yes I posted this from work =)

Heater Control Valve. That is the part that cost me $14 and about 4 hours today. My '91 Camaro is such a piece of shit =). Also, worm-gear band-clamps == good, spring clamps == bad. I spent almost an hour getting that fucking part loose and only 10 minutes installing the new one. Rotten thing...

SomethingAwful is probably familiar to all three of you who read this irregularly. However I need to point out that this comic from the incredible JeffK is just too damn funny. I had tears in my eyes, laughing... incredible in this case is meant to be the original definition, as in not having any cred...

Floorpuller.com Your one stop source for panel lifting equipment. What a great thing it is that domains like this exist. OTOH, this looks fricking awkward. And this carpet lifter just confuses me. Who has raised floor that they bothered to carpet? What do they charge for 14,400 sq. ft. of carpet in 2x2ft square pieces individually glued to tiles? Has anyone other than a showroom ever done this?

X-Entertainment's article Entertainment weakly: 2001 has this choice quote that left me teary-eyed:

Heather Graham stars as a scientist who gets in a dangerous relationship in KILLING ME SOFTLY. No word yet on what song they'll use for the opening credits yet.

And I do believe that this bit hurt almost as bad:

What are the odds that the film SAD FUCKERS CLUB starring Andie MacDowell keeps the same title when it's released?

Bonus! Stage four, that's all I'm saying...

OK, I realize that not all of you three people who read this log also read NTK so I'm forced to list a few of the best links they tickled loose from the ether:
  1. BritneySpears.ac: High-quality Britney Spears pictures, links, lyrics, chat and Semiconductor Laser Physics
  2. arXiv.org: Not a giant Pr0n archive... Better!
