- Hey it turns out I was able to excise the offending photoshop plugin-mangled files and upon a reboot have it all work. Let that be a lesson to you. You can go back to your beloved (and fricking expensive) photoshop 4 plugins. You must let them go on the wings of time and move on to a new era. Or start using GIMP. Available for windows even! Better still, GIMP comes with a built-in programming language called Script-fu. Way too cool.

- Why is it the day I leave the cell phone off the hook two nights in a row everyone in the world wants to call and chatter? I'm watching the battery suck down like bad-guys in a movie quagmire. (The good guys always last till they are rescued =)

- Whoop! My boss tells me that I goofed Photoshop tinkering with eldritch plugins. Too bad I have to re-install to fix it. =) At least I don't have to re-install Windows. That would suck...

- So I had this great idea for tinkering with the website was going to be real cool, shame my win98 install is dying and has taken PhotoShop with it. Wonder where I stuck those disks... hmm...

- RoadWaffles has kicked back up, may have to add it to the comic radar
Attack Cartoons seems to be AWOL right when I could use the perspective of a bitter Libertarian.
ThinHLine seems to be back online. Maybe there is hope for Attack Cartoons still. =) The move to being a Stile Project affiliate is right and proper, exactly unlike either site =)

- It's really cool when you've been sick to come in and find that your friends have kept the blog
moving while you've been away. =) I've not been webbing much, even let one of my e-mail boxes slide for 4 days while down and out.

- I'd like to apologize for my lack of contributions to the blog. It's nearing the holidays, and well, my favorite sport is in season. Shopping. But back to the TV and commercials discussion. Pebbles (my dog) was unhappy to hear that pets.com has closed. I, however, was excited to know that I will no longer have to witness those annoying commercials with the dog handpuppet. The commercials for petopia.com are much more inventive. I just wonder how much longer that one is gonna last. Maybe I should do my holiday shopping there. hmm. And as if we weren't all sick of hearing about the private lives of public officials, here's a new one on the lt. governor of KY and his new bride. Can't we spend tax payer's money on better things than making sure someone didn't misuse a telephone or computer to plan their wedding? Come on. I mean, if he was suspect of using our hard-earned tax dollars to throw an all expenses paid wedding for 1,000 people at the top of the Eiffel Tower, complete with a mariachi band and a visit from Bill Clinton, I might consider this a necessary audit. Sheesh.

- OK, just as a warning to ya, I saw the domain bday.com and
rather than thinking about what to get my parents this year (Nov 25 and 27) I started wondering about
miss-spellings of ebay.com. Yes it's sad, but if I do it, I can save you all from the evil of pr0n redirectors. =)
Ok, first of all, I actually got the idea from this comic's url.
- e-bay.com leads to dead webserver. heh love that M$ webserver...
- b-eay.com is an evil pr0n trap. Whee, watch those windows fly!
- beay.com is owned by domaincollection.com Check this:
Domain servers in listed order:
NS1.THIS-DOMAIN-IS-FOR-SALE.COM 216.167.104.4
NS1.EMAILUS-DOMAINSALESATDOMAINCOLLECTION.COM 208.62.23.134
NS1.TO-BUY-THIS-DOMAIN-FAX-305-463-9709.COM 208.62.23.141
Gotta love the people in this world... or at least pretend to long enough to het behind them with the weapons
- eday was once a great site for spotting and reviewing the worst of ebay abuse but now, sadly, it's just a crappy redirector link toilet. At least there is no javascript or pr0n.
more later? probably not. No outrage, just boredom =)

- Following up on sklutch's rants about TV commercials, I have to complain about what I've been watching
for the past day or so that I've been home sick. First off, you have to understand that the Mills tradition is that when you are sick, you can watch TV for hours and hours without shame. As opposed to our other traditions like vacations, holidays and family events, where we watch TV for hours and hours with guilt. =)
So, ill, I've done nothing but watch crappy movies, SciFi channel, and literally about 8 hours of CNN.
This one commercial that I caught a number of times last night is for a "Dr." something-or-rather computer learning software. It purports to teach you how to use your computer in about an hour. Like getting eye-glasses in about an hour, only with "clue". At one point they fess up that the software is a cd-rom full of video clips. The demo on the screen shows the video open in a small window with big arrow controls at the bottom. The controls are highlighted with flashing arrows and the text "Controls work just like a VCR". It occurs to me that this probably isn't the benefit that they think it is, since they are definitely pitching this crap to the "blinking 12:00" crowd. Telling people who can't set the clock on their appliances that something is as easy as a VCR seems like a good way to go out of business.

- AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH! I hate late night commercials...I just heard a commercial for Sonic Earz which offer "the benefits of sonic hearing"...I don't know about the rest of you Earthlings, but my ears already use sonics...that's another name for "sound"...I can't hear light [except for high-intensity lasers] and I can't hear "silky" except as a description for a sound...*sigh* Mankind needs another good plague...but not an STD, because there's already enough frustrated people in the world...

- Okay, so the TechTV news blurb reported that the CIA investigation of the chat server involved 116 employees. That's not too surprising, but it kills me that TTV also reports that the server may have been operating for 10 YEARS!!! BWAAAA HAAA HAA HAA HAA HAA *pounding desk* Our "Central Intelligence Agency" completely missed an unauthorized server running on their hardware for 10 YEARS?!?! I love that...I know they're tasked with outside activities, not domestic [shut up conspiracy theorists, we don't have time for that], but that should've shown up somewhere, right? Also, the TTV reports that the CIA discovered the server during a "routine security sweep"...if it was routine, why didn't they find it sooner?
Gotta go back to "work" now...later...
