The switch to day hours has been harder than I expected. I was on 2nd shift long enough to completely acclimate. I'm finally beating off the nasty cold that I got but still fighting sleeplessness and even freaky nightmares. I'm waking up and not being able to go back to sleep, even with a 20 hour day behind me and only 4 hours of sleep from the night before.

Last night I had a great nightmare about watching TV on a giant screen or small movie screen. Then this zombie like thing comes tearing through the screen on the left, long claw like fingers tearing the screen at the edge, pushing it sideways and climbing through the hole. Its face is black with white rings around the black and red eyes. The hair is gray and black, a cross between extreme dreads and matted filth. In many cases that might be redundant Right as it bursts through the screen and leaps at me, I wake up.

The other thing that is really bugging me, dream-wise is that I've now had like 4 or 5 falling dreams where I hit ground and have to deal with it. In one, I have superhuman flight capability that I discover after falling off a mile high version of the Seattle Space Needle. Unfortunately, I crash into the bleachers in a sports stadium before quite getting the powers under control so I wind up hovering above the sparcely laden stands, broken and bleeding from having smacked into the chairs hard enough to bust the floor out into the lower tier of stands. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch. I wish I could get the exact picture I imagined of the looks on the people's faces. That would almost make up for the two hours of non-sleep that followed.

And here I am staying up too late again and screwing up my schedule. Oh well, off to bed, perchance to dream of cool Matrix-like forest-fu, where I brush arrows aimed square at my heart away in slo-mo while marching inexorably to the villian's doom. Or maybe I'll dream of the awesome Wacom tablet that didn't fucking make it here for my birthday. How about a new logo for hostile here? I got a great idea that is waiting on that tablet. No, definitely the forest-fu one, yeah. =)

Normally, I don't condone drooling fanaticism over attractive stars...but Michelle Ferre demands an exception.

She's been a CNN Headline correspondent in Japan, a game show hostess, and has acted in a single film opposite the most amazing stunt man of this century...Jackie Chan (in Jackie's oddball secret-agent film Who Am I?).

Definitely a figure of authority I wouldn't mind having looking down on me...Michelle Ferre is an incredibly beautiful woman.

I'd like to publically state, being the host of the party which Mark and Sklutch attended, that we did NOT watch Battle Of The Planets.

In fact, we watched three episodes of Kagaku Ninja-Tai Gachaman, the original, un-cut, KICK-ASS animation that was later raped, pillaged, plundered, and bled until you got the American Battle Of The Planets.

Sure, we all grew up LOVING BotP, but it does not hold a candle to the original Gachaman (the full name translates as "Science Ninja Team Gachaman"). Sure, we all grew up with the heroic stylings of Mark, Jason, Princess, Key-Op, and Tiny. But now it is time to experience the true power of Owashi no Ken, Condor no Joe, Shiratori no Jun, Tsubakuro no Jinpei, and Mimizuku no Ryu.

BotP is kids stuff, edited, watered-down, with its internal continuity destroyed and filled with insipid characters such as 7-Zark-7 and 1-Rover-1. Grow up everyone, import the Japanese DVD's of Kagaku Ninja-Tai Gachaman, and revel in what was one of the most incredible animations of its day, that has spawned countless imitations.

Two quick links this morning from CNN. Sklutch was too lazy to post these so I had to. First, Monolith appears, which should warm the heart of every good SciFi fan. Second, Chocolate-dipped pork fat should send shudders up and down your spine.

Now that is a complete lyrics list for Beck. Wow. Overall, a nicely designed site, check it out if you are a fan.

Oops, I came home from work and crashed immediately. So now it is the middle of the night and I'm up. Shit, I'll never get myself back on regular time like this. Also, I wish Perl 5.6.1 was ready-for-primetime. And I want a pony, or for my Wacom Tablet to show up at least.

Yay!, up again, and only 2 more hours till I have to be up! It is sooo hard to sleep when you have to try and draw oxygen through all the phlegm.

Links that belonged in that post yesterday since I'm up =(:

I sure am glad I have to get up in 4 hours. Wow I love having a cold. I wish I always had a cold. That way my throat would always hurt and my nose would always run and I'd always have something to bitch about. Wait, scratch that last one, history has shown that I always have something to bitch about.

At least I got nothing done over the holidays, thank goodness for that. One last Holiday to get through and then we are in the clear till February. Well, if you count Epiphany as a holiday, I do since it is also my birthday. =) I'm going to be 2 to the 5th power this year. For the math illiterate, that is all your fingers, all your toes, all of somebody else's fingers and both your heads. Hopefully, any appendage irregularities will even out statistically. Thus if you have 6 toes on each foot, you should pick as your partner someone who lost a couple of fingers in a wheat thresher or playing with blasting caps or something. If you have 6 toes and your partner still has the normal amount of fingers, feel free to not count your heads...

Oh, BTW, I will be switching to a day schedule in the new yer so if you are actually used to coming here during the morning to see what I wrote when it is fresh, tough noogies. I'll be posting lightly from work around lunch time or so eash coast and in the evenings. Very little will happen late at night anymore. Just FYI, it isn't actually important or anything...

I can't decide whether cold medicine makes parties more or less fun. I can tell you this, it made it weirder. I can tell you that having projection television screens running WinAmp visualization scripts makes for an amusing time. I have to say that listening to hard-core rap while watching anime on the big screen was pretty surreal even without the drugs.

For me, the big downer of the party was when this cute litte elfin-looking chick, almost adorable even, speaking to me for the first time all night when I hadn't asked her a question, leaned over to me, giggled and said "Heehee, that sounds like music from a porno movie, hehehe." The Peter Gunn Theme was playing. I love that tune. I was able to repress homicidal urges by leaving quickly, hopefully, with that excuse, DFA will forgive me for leaving without saying goodbye.

Normally I would link up a post like this but I'm late for dinner as it is so I may do it later. =P

Well crap, I'm getting a cold or something. I can feel my sinuses filling up over and over. Hurrah! h2g2 fans take note, this is likely my last reference to these wonderful books for the rest of the year. I hope the world doesn't end right now, I've got a headache. I don't want to go to heaven with a headache, I'll be all cross and won't enjoy it. Can we call this New Year thing off for a day or two so I can suck down some soup and get better? Thanks...

Ooh the fever is making me woozy. That bit is cool anyway...
