Ahhh, but Mark, you're assuming that they really let you go. I've no doubt that in the dark recesses of LameDuckWing's Human Resource conglomerate, your Notice of Intention to Stop Working for Middle Management Morons is just gathering dust...unprocessed. I can feel this because it took OVER THREE MONTHS for the inept, goat-humping, land whales in HR to actually process my paperwork...after a six week period of notification. You can't rush these things, because the more employees we have, the more important our press releases sound. God knows, style is more important in 'Net-land than substance....just ask our World-Wired Pantheon: Big Bill Gates and the Legion of Object-Oriented Programmer Yuppies. Hrmmm, that sounded a bit bitter...now I crave lemonade. Later, Kiddies...

You know, now that I've been fired from a company for over one year, wouldn't it make sense that they would stop sending me 401K information and quit bugging me about accounts that have been zeroed out all that time? How stupid can you be?

Mental note, Check these out later. Zap Jones, StripTease (again), Jackie's Fridge, Fat Jesus, and PolyKarbon. And FunnyFarm again and Bad Boys... again.

Comics have been on the back burner again but I had to mention the showing odd potential new NeoBaka. I gather baka means "idiot" in Japanese? I love the 21st Century image...

A court brief with Perl code in it. Very cool. Nice to see your favorite language used to prove legal points. Here is the summary:
It cannot seriously be argued that any form of computer code may be regulated without reference to First Amendment doctrine. The path from idea to human language to source code to object code is a continuum. As one moves from one to the other, the levels of precision and, arguably, abstraction increase, as does the level of training necessary to discern the idea from the expression. Not everyone can understand each of these forms. Only English speakers will understand English formulations. Principally those familiar with the particular programming language will understand the source code expression. And only a relatively small number of skilled programmers and computer scientists will understand the machine readable object code. But each form expresses the same idea, albeit in different ways.

I sense a conspiracy...

Jeff Goldblum is the voice of I-MAC, right? JG's voice is synonymous with those odd little computers, right?

Why was JG selected over all other people in the world? Was it because of his looks? Hardly. Was it because of his nerdish nature on-camera? Hardly. Was it because his voice makes you want to buy computers? No.

I submit to you he was chosen because of The Big Chill. As you may recall, JG plays the Time Magazine reported in TBC, and he and his college friends spend the weekend together. Well, at one point he is philosophizing over right and wrong and rationalizations and whatnot, and JG is wearing a t-shirt.

This t-shirt had "IVOICE" on it. That would be: eye-vee-oh-eye-see-ee. He was IVOICE then, and he is the I-MAC VOICE now. Coincidence? I think not!

*With much dancing and wearing of badly fitting white suit* I HAVE FOUND THE PROMISED ONE! THE ONE WHO WOULD LEAD ME IN MY QUEST TO OBTAIN THE MOST ECONOMICAL USE OF ANFO AND STILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE A NONDESCRIPT VAN! HALLELUJAH! Thank you, Mark...I've been hurting myself reading the wisdom of Fred, but it's a good kinda hurt...like the tingling of the nail scratches on your back or that muscle cramp in your calf after a four hour sex marathon. I was deadly afraid that I was the only one who felt the world was full of whiny fat people (and I include myself in their ranks, upon occasion) and couldn't understand how it happened. Just wanted to thank you before I go back to reading the list.

Europe makes me laugh. Fred on Everything is funniest when talking about his past and at his bitterest when speaking of race or sex relations. When reading his archives, if you stumble across something you don't like, don't come bitching to me. I didn't write em, I just thought a few were funny.

Blogger hates me and won't let me post when I want to, in case you are wondering... I had some really good stuff to post but it is gone gone gone now. =)
